Apollo Glass Gives Back

 In Apollo Glass Gives Back

Apollo Glass is passionate about supporting our community and the wonderful resources it has to offer. Starting in 2019, we have decided we will “put our money where our mouth is” and donate a portion of our profits to local organizations each quarter. We are proud to be a part of a community that supports one another and want to help deserving organizations serve those in need.

For the third quarter of 2019, we are happy to support Crossroads Animal Shelter, which has provided homes for thousands of animals in the Wright County area since 1999. A non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that operates on limited resources and contributions from animal-lovers, the group focuses on animal welfare, education, fundraising and volunteering.

Humble Beginnings. In September of 1999, a small group of volunteers with many years of experience caring for animals met with a vision to build a new shelter to help abandoned animals in Wright County. With an ambitious goal of raising $20,000 in the first year, they were amazed and humbled to procure three times the amount and gifted a parcel of land for a new facility. In January 2002, Crossroads Animal Shelter opened to the public with space for more than 30 cats and 20 dogs.

Adoption Opportunities. To date, Crossroads has helped home nearly 10,000 pets. The organization hosts local events, and a variety of sponsorship opportunities. Interested in adopting a new pet? Check out the current pets ready for new homes here or visit the center during open hours each weekend. Contribute to Crossroads via donation, volunteering, or providing pet supplies by visiting their donation page.

First Apollo Gives Back Recipient. A special shout out to the team at the Buffalo Food Shelf, our second quarter Apollo Gives Back recipient. This incredible local resource serves over 400 families each month in our area. It is a Christian, non-profit, community-based organization supplementing food and hygiene items to those who need it most. Apollo Glass was pleased to donate $500 to the Buffalo Food Shelf in July.

Apollo Glass is thrilled to support such incredible resources in our community. We look forward to contributing to other local organizations in the coming years. #apolloglassgivesback

We are happy to donate $500 to Crossroads Animal Shelter in Buffalo, MN. Crossroads has helped home nearly 10,000 pets and helps support our pet community in a variety of ways. Currently, Crossroads has nearly 40 animals available for adoption or foster care.

Interested in adopting a pet? Visit Crossroads to meet the animals and see if one is a good fit for your family. If you’re looking to adopt, here are the requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • Each household member (including current animals) must meet the new pet prior to adoption to ensure a good fit
  • All animals in the household must be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations
  • If you currently live in a rental property, proof of pet approval is required
  • Pet parents are subject to a routine interview to ensure proper placement
  • Crossroads asks that all pets adopted are housed indoors. They believe all animals should be a part of your family and should be treated as such.

Adoption costs are $175 for cats, $300 for dogs, and $250 for senior dogs, plus tax.

Love animals, but not ready to adopt? Sponsor an animal, attend one of the community events, donate, or volunteer at Crossroads. You may visit Crossroads Animal Shelter and meet current residents during open hours each weekend. Thanks to Crossroads and its volunteers for taking care of pets in our community!
